After waiting six months and being in training that long for my dream bike trip, I'm just about ready. On this countdown week, I've finally completed several projects involving cleaning out a lot of clutter in my house. Kind of like leaving clean sheets on the bed, it will be so good to return to a neater home. Magazines and books have been given to the library and a ton of running/cycling shirts have gone to the thrift shop. Old lipsticks, Clinique eye cream, etc. have gone to the trash. The ironing is done and before I leave next week, the refrigerator will be clean, as will the closet under the steps. That's right . . . I'm on a roll!
Joe B. helped me deliver my TREK to FedEx last Friday, and I've heard from Bernie's Bike Shop that my Pilot arrived safely and looks good. I've packed about five times trying to reduce a little weight each time. I think I have the two bags down to a total of 40 lbs., the maximum allowed. It's the Endurox that's so heavy because I'm only taking minimum clothing. The Endurox will get lighter and lighter as I go along and enjoy a carbo/protein cocktail each afternoon. :))
Well, that's enough for now. Actually, I'm practicing for the time when I begin posting on the road. . .
